I have a metal floor fan and the control box melted on it. Is it possible for me to just put some wires together and make it start running on the highest speed? Right now i have some wires connected but i can't seem to get it to run the fastest it can go.Or would i have to get another relay and possible switch it over? Im just trying to save money for the company and make it so nothing on the fan will break/melt. Thanks!|||I would not. Unless the motor is made for it you may damage it with low voltage. You should not modify appliances as you could case an unsafe condition. Especially with ones that run on AC. Just go by a multispeed fan. That will not ruin the fan or worst still start a fire.
