I have a close friend who has a daughter in highschool. Her daughter wants to wear a two piece bikini into a pool party. But, my friend is quite hesitant to have her daughter wear one. Is that ok? Or is she being controlling? I personally feel that she maybe a little bit out of line... But how do I tell her that? If she's on the slimmer side though, then it's most likely making her daughter feel self-conscious in thinking that her mother doesn't even think that she's thin enough to wear a bikini. I've worn a bikini to the beach or the pool as far back as I can remember. I think I was four when my mother put it on me. The ones I buy are smaller, thinner and the strings are a lot smaller than the ones mom bought but they are all considered bikinis none the less. If you go look around the department store when swimwear goes on sale you will note that they have bikinis for all ages, shapes and sizes as well as overall coverage. If the stores didn't sell them why would they put them on the rack?
