Why are they so robotic and awkward?

Their voices are deep and bumbling like they have no clue what to do or so.

They seem more comfortable being mean, strict, boring, and a complete lack of sense of humour?

Why can't they be more loose and outgoing instead of being awkward and boring all the time with their deep robot voices?|||Bryzgalov is like the funniest guy in the league.|||I agree, Americans and Canadians have a lot more sense of humor.|||You sir are very #UnFilthy|||Maybe English isn't their first language so its hard to be funny. Americans and Canadians know how to make the jokes.

And Bryzgalov is indeed the funniest in the league.|||Go move to Russia to play in the KHL, try to learn Russian, on top of that try your best to understand being interviewed in Russian while trying to be funny at the same time. Not so easy eh? kind of robotic and awkward eh?|||ha, i get it. in case people forget, up until ovechkin, russian players were ripped by canadian media for being to serious not having fun. then, when one does, he gets criticized for not being a dull, emotionless robot|||They're not you just don't know what you're talking about.|||You clearly do not know who Alex Ovechkin is.|||Because we have special people like you which are always funny and entertaining.
If the place is already taken, then why bother? :)|||Because English isn't their first language. In their native language, they might be hilarious. I bet you'd be shy too if you had to move to Russia and play in the KHL, at least off the ice.

Not all Russians are boring, either. Ovechkin is pretty funny and loose, and Bryzgalov is weird but hilarious.

Also just because you don't find them entertaining off the ice, doesn't mean they're completely boring. Russia has produced many players that are very entertaining on the ice. You can't say Ovechkin, Bure, Datsyuk, etc. are boring to watch when they play hockey.|||Maybe it's the language barrier, as others have said. I'm sure that the Russian players, with their teammates and especially countrymen, are quite hilarious. And Alex Ovechkin is a bit of a prankster from what I've heard. I'm sure Matty Perrault is wondering how to get revenge for that shaving cream pie he took to the face after his first NHL hat trick.
