Hi, I have a PC which has pretty decent features, however it is saturated with unnecessary files which have been piled up throughout the past years. I know I can format it and install Windows 7 from a disc, but is there a way to do this for free. I mean obtaining Windows 7, Windows XP or any OS which would work on a PC which previously hosted a Windows XP OS for free.|||No version of windows is free.|||Well you need to purchase a Windows XP disk because if the computer came with Windows XP installed on it then installing a Windows 7 would make the computer really slow. The only way to get a Windows XP disk for free is by downloading a Windows XP disk torrent but i don't prefer this because it is dangerous. Most computers come with a Operating system disk with the computer so you can format your computer whenever you want to without purchasing a disk, the OS disk should be in the box that the computer came with. A Windows XP Professional disk costs 拢50 on Amazon UK.|||Microsoft is developing windows 8, and their developers release is available for download for free. It is compatible with almost all aplications that work for windows7. But, remember, it is a developers preview, so it has no tech support and has limitations.
