I was thinking of a dogo argentino, german shepherd or a rottweilder ..with one kid and a wife in a one family house with a average sized backyard ..they will have a mini poodle (7 years old) to play with ..thanks for the advice !|||Lab or golden retriever|||Golden Retriever. They are great with other dogs and not aggressive But they are playful with other dogs 2 :) hope i helped!|||Well first off what can YOU handle and what do you WANT in a dog? Throwing breeds out at random is pointless. How well does your current dog get on with other dogs? Young puppies? And when bringing a new dog/puppy into the home you NEVER leave them unattended with current dogs until you are sure they are going to get on well. More so with a small breed that can easily be hurt during rough play or otherwise.|||NO large breed is especially whilst young & playful as mini poodles have quite delicate bones & can be broken easily with just a miss placed swipe of a large breed dogs paw. I have Tibetan Mastiffs & poodles & even my best TM's are not allowed unsupervised time alone with any of my little dogs. They all get on great but as I learned the hard way even supervised little dogs can get hurt without any aggression just rough play. I always let the big guys burn off some steam free running & then the little dogs join us for a walk across the paddocks. Big dogs have a play style of tackling & rolling each other & if a poodle got caught up in it they could & have been hurt before in similar situations. That's what happen here supervised play but the poodle tried to join in the big dogs game whilst they where too hyped up & she got rolled & hurt her shoulder. That was many many years ago now but a lessen well learned that even the best mates can accidental hurt a little dog in play.
I suggest you either re think your choose of new dog or start building dog runs & buying crates so they can be separated when needed & get educated on how much work a large breed pup is.|||none as big dogs can hurt small ones trying to play|||are you serious? i hope that you have lots of time for your large breed dog between raising your family, work and your other dog...

do not get a Dogo...really, dont...

they need a lot more space than an average size backyard (any large breed dog does in my opinion, but even more so a Dogo) and they need lots and lots of your time!

get a smaller dog...maybe a regular size poodle since you already have experience with the breed...

i would not ever, leave a large dog home along with a tiny dog...you are asking for trouble!
