I am planning a trip to Nepal during Dashain this year (2009). Am wondering if you can suggest any itinerary for a tourist during this period?|||It's one of the biggest festival In Nepal. Along come with Tihar which comes after 1 or 2 weeks. You'll really enjoy it because at that time everything is gonna be so live. Nepal is also one of the country where one can see different cultures . Dashain festival is not like street festivals where you can see in the streets it's more like family get together . The festival runs for 10 days . Usually first seven days are like overcrowded for shopping , going to own home , very busy street , shops and especially temples . From 7 - 10 days it's more like festivals . there will be public holidays for government offices , there will be gathering of all of the family members in their native or old town or home. Last 3 days of Dashain is very silent in the main cites roads but most enjoyable in the families with lot's of family unity and love to each other . You will enjoy Dasain if you spend whole dashain with some local people not in he hotels . You can see the love of family and the culture in the Nepalis .|||Dashain is a typically Hindu Festival.
