I am currently enrolled in a community college. I am planning to transfer to a UC campus but I am wondering if you can still be a community college student and work at the UC of your choice closely with a professor in research opportunities..? I am an Cultural Anthropology Major/ B.A.|||It's going to be a lot harder. Your own school almost certainly won't offer you an opportunities, and no one at a UC will benefit from taking you on. Grad students are sometimes useful, undergrads rarely, and they have their own to choose from before they have to start looking elsewhere. Professors won't be paid or in any way compensated for letting you take up a great deal of their time as a research student. So unless you have an in somewhere, it's not too likely to happen.|||You should contact and/or visit professors that you want to work with. You'll appear enthusiastic and make a good impression even if they don't have an open position.聽Starting these relationships before you transfer will be helpful.
