As such most hotels simply won't trust that a minor won't trash the hotel room and then skip out on the bill. In addition, most hotels don't wish to be liable for issues which might happen -- as as the minor being attacked, drugs/police raids, fires, smoking, drunken teens getting injured, sexual assaults, etc. Most hotels require credit cards to cover damages, taking of property, and incidentals (phone, pay-per-view, etc.) which quests might incur and then skip out before paying. Some hotels might accept a large cash payment (several hundred dollars) as a security deposit, but that is rare these days. All hotels will require ID and that at least one person be 18 or over. If you are under 18, you might find a hotel which will allow a parent to sign some type of form, provide a credit card, etc. in order to rent a room for a minor.
