We have a gorgeous male ragdoll cat named Bailey. He's almost 1 year old and an absolute socialite. He hasn't had much interaction with other cats before but when he has it hasn't been a problem. We have bought a new kitten who's 12 weeks old. She's a female ragdoll. I want to make their introduction as comfortable as i possibly can and i'd like some tips on how to make them both feel comfortable with the new arrangement.
Thanks for any tips!|||it's simple....play with them! she will be happy if you love them both...
play with them and let them communicate!|||if i was you i would introduce them slowly!! as long as you give bailey the same affection you will give the kitten!!! i am Shure it will all be fine!!! i hope this helps|||Well that was the same with my cats, you just have to wait a while for them to bond together and soon they will be buddies! :D|||If you have a blanket or a basket where the new kitten is sleeping, try putting that in the vicinity of Bailey during the day. It's generally the scent of another cat that makes them not get along. If you allow Bailey the time to get used to her scent, then you can slowly start putting them together. You don't want to force them to touching or laying next to each other, but just let them sniff each other. Also, using the same Litter Tray for toileting, will get them to bond and get used to each other a little sooner. Obviously, they expel their scent when toileting, and Bailey smelling that will also allow him to get used to her.
Make sure the new kitten doesn't get any more or less attention than Bailey, try playing with them both at the same time. Feeding them in the same room; once they've properly met also helps.
After a few days, they'll be getting along in no time!
Good luck and have fun!
