Other tree stumps that is. The one they have is like it is covered in tiny balconies. That stump receives more daylight than the others and all are behind a shed.
If I could get them to colonise a neighbour and take over them I would, so any hints there are appreciated. No I'm not on magic mushrooms, but saw a film last night called Little Otik which got my mind going in that direction.|||you definitely can buy spores of the edible ones in your garden&landscape place..
most Funghi do not like disturbance of their mycelium (give or take, roots). you could try collecting spores under the developed balconies, maybe into the petri dish or simply grass or cotton piece. then, spread across the stump you want to infect.
there are other types of funghi that are used in biological removal of tree stumps. you simply dilute the agens, drill a hole or two into the stump and pour it into it.. the funghus eats up the stump (and develops "mushrooms" in the process.|||You would need to make sure the other stumps are the same tree as the one being colonized. Fungi can be very picky about their medium.
Then, after a heavy rain, cut up the stump tops with a machete or hatchet (not too severely), then tap a fresh stump mushroom gills-down onto the scored stumps...you may need more than one. And if the mycelium of the parent stump is producing plenty of mushrooms, chances are you will not disturb it much.
