Well, I know the Kindle Fire is not suppose to have a camera, but I really see there is something like a camera on the top left of the screen.
Since any edge of the front side of the Kindle Fire can be the top of the Kindle Fire, I will explain which top I'm talking about.
Position your Kindle Fire so that the power button is at the bottom side. Now, look on top left of your screen, do you see something like a camera? Or what is it?|||Hi, Cach, the reason for the whole is that Kindle Fire is one underpowered piece of scraps of old RIM PlayBook tablet hardware that had the camera so there's the hole although Fire doesn't have the camera. Nook Tablet is way better - it's performance smokes Kindle Fire in all pro reviews specifically on video playback, the screen quality, and how fast apps load.|||no bias there. how did you go from answering the question to advertising for the nook. i don't remember her asking if it performs as fast as the nook tablet.

|||It's a light sensor so that the screen can automatically adjust to the ambient light and not be too bright or dark. We thought ours was a camera as well, but an Amazon rep told us over the phone. We also found a lot of other inside info on the Kindle Fire on www.kindlemad.com which is definitely worth a look.Hope it helps.|||It's probably a light sensor that allows the Fire to adjust the brightness of the screen to the surrounding ambient light brightness so you don't strain your eyes, IE in a bright room the screen gets brighter and in a dark room it dims.
