We lined the bottom of her hut thing with news paper to put wood chippings on top, and she started eating it so I removed it in panic, i didnt know if it would be bad for her or if its a normal thing?|||Good that you removed it. It's not food. It's not healthy, could clog up your little ones digestive tract. Could be very harmful. Ask pet store or vet about other possible products to use.|||She might choke.|||it depends on where you live, here in the uk newspaper ink is soy based and therefore safe for the piggies to eat.

piggies eat things they shouldn't do it shouldn't kill them but isnt good for them.|||It is not going to hurt them as long as you do not use any of the shiny pages or colored pages. I had that problem until I realized I was not putting in enough bedding, once I started to use the proper amount of bedding they stopped paper scooping! To stop all odor problems you really need to put down 41/2 to 5" of bedding. If you shop in the proper places for your bedding it is not expensive and you can afford to do so, go to my You Tube site and view Feed and Seed

In this video I show you how to purchase 12 cubic feet of pine shavings of only $10.00 the same bag in a pet store would be at least $50.00. If you place the food and water at one end of the cage your guinea pigs will eat drink and potty all in one end of the cage so when you change the cage you can reuse most of the bedding at the other end of the cage. Simply sprinkle it over the bottom of the cage and put 3" of fresh bedding on top of it.|||No its not ok
