My iPOD 2nd gen is about ... 5 going 6 years .. still working.|||I dunno why you would want it to, but probably. I'd store it with the battery completely dead, though. although they say to store it at 50-70 battery left and turned completely off, but that wouldnt last 50 years, maybe a few months but not 50 years. lol.
